Why ABC

Commitments to the people of Liberia

*          We will not employ any of my immediate family members to work in the government

*          We will increase gender participation within government by 40% in six years

*          We will create 100,000 new jobs each year, and 600,000 new jobs for Liberians in six years

*          We will increase our national budget up to $2 billion through our macroeconomic, monetary and taxation policies; and by cutting waste and eliminating corruption

*          We will increase road connectivity to every major city thereby integrating markets and opportunities across the nation

*          We will increase access to running water and electricity by at least 50% in six years

*          We will increase adult literacy by 50% in six years

*          We will ensure that the rule of law will be respected, corruption will be dealt with swiftly anyone accused of corruption will be prosecuted, those found guilty of corruption will be immediately fired and assets will be seized

*          We will not sign any concession that is not in the best interest of the people of Liberia

Impact

Education and Human Capital Development

ABC believes in supporting the development of the next generation of Liberian leaders. This begins with investing in our youth to curb unemployment and prepare Liberians to meet the demands of the private sector. With respect to education and human capital development ABC and the ANC have:

*          Paid WAEC Exam fees for over 2,322 students in 21 schools across Liberia

*          Provided $177,650 USD in financial aid for scholarships for African Methodist Episcopal University (AMEU) students

*          Donated 1 million Liberian Dollars to the University of Liberia Students Union Scholarship drive

*          Equipped the University of Liberia with a state of an art computer laboratory

*          Established the Alexander B. Cummings Innovation Center at AMEU

*          Donated a 350 KVA generator worth over $65,000 USD to the Booker Washington Institute (BWI)

*          Donated a new shuttle bus to J.J. Roberts United Methodist School to transport students and staff

*          Furnished the computer laboratory of St. Clement University

Health Care and Sanitation

ABC and the ANC are proud of his accomplishments and what he has done to improve the quality of life for our people. With respect to health care and sanitation, ABC and the ANC have:

*          Provided $565,000 USD worth of medical supplies to rural hospitals in Margibi, Bong, Grand Bassa, Lofa, River Gee, and Maryland

*          Supported over 20 water projects in Montserrado , Nimba, Margibi, Grand Gedeh, Sinoe, Maryland, Grand Kru, River Gee and Rivercess giving access to clean water to the most vulnerable citizens

*          Secured over $50,000 USD from The Coca-Cola Company in donated supplies to Liberia during the Ebola crisis

Infrastructure Investments

ABC believes that infrastructure development cuts across all sectors of society and is a key driver of economic growth and a prosperous society. With respect to infrastructure, ABC and the ANC have:

*          Led the construction of a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematic) academic institution in Paynesville, the first of its kind in Liberia

*          Constructed the bridge that connects Big Town to Tubman University in Harper, Maryland county giving a secure access to education in the community

*          Sponsored construction of a US$ 50,000 USD clinic in Nengben Town, Nimba County

Women's Empowerment and Community Development

ABC believes that women play a significant role in the success of our nation and the sustained peace Liberia has enjoyed. However, women are underrepresented in all aspects of society. ABC and the ANC believe in the strength and power of women and will ensure gender parity in Liberia. With respect to Women's Empowerment and Community Development ABC and the ANC have:

*          Provided 6 million Liberian Dollars in micro loans to market women to develop sustainable livelihoods

*          Donated $3,000 USD to Bolongoidu Mosque to complete larger mosque in Bolongoidu, Quardu Gboni District in Lofa County

*          Funded a radio station in Bahn, Zogeh district, Nimba County

*          Donated $4,000 USD to Maryland County for the Counties Sport Tournament

*          Donated music equipment to Mt. Scott United Methodist Church and St. Marks Episcopal Church in Harper, Maryland County

*          Donated a radio transmitter to Radio Harper in Maryland County
